A highly skilled Orbital and Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, Dr. Priti Udhay has a distinguished background and renowned surgical expertise. Dr. Priti Udhay graduated in medicine and surgery(MBBS) from Seth G S Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai; completed basic ophthalmic surgical training (MS Ophthalmalogy) from Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Government Ophthalmic Hospital, Chennai and went on to receive the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in Ophthalmology, New Delhi; the prestigious fellowship of the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) as well as the coveted Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), Glasgow, United Kingdom. She has worked as an Assistant Professor and consultant ophthalmologist at Sri Ramachandra Hospital And Research Institute, Chennai. She underwent fellowship training in Orbit, Oculoplasty, Aesthetic and Reconstructive surgery at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai. She has also worked as a consultant in the Orbit, Oculoplasty and Trauma Services at Sankara Nethralaya for several years.
Dr. Priti Udhay has presented several scientific papers, delivered invited faculty lectures and chaired sessions in various regional and national conferences and meetings. She has successfully performed over 5000 oculoplastic surgeries. She has to her credit publications in various peer reviewed, indexed, national and international journals, including American Society Journal of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Indian Journal of Ophthalmology. She is an executive member of the Oculoplastic Association of India (OPAI) and member of All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS). Dr. Priti Udhay is a reviewer for the Journal of Clinical Ophthalmology and Research, and abstract reviewer for the All India Ophthalmological Society. She has also authored three book chapters in the book entitled "State-of -The Art Advanced Ophthalmic Surgery". She is also a global examiner for the coveted FRCS (Glagow,UK) exams and faculty for the AOCMF which is an international organisation of best-in-class trauma surgeons based at Davos, Switzerland.
She has received the prestigious Prof. Sathiavakesan Gold Medal and Prof. E. T. Selvam Award. She has also received the Best Paper Award in Lacrimal Session in the All India Ophthalmology Conference 2009 held at Jaipur and the best paper award at All India Oculoplasty Meet 2016 at Hyderabad. She has been a faculty for the DNB Course at Sankara Nethralaya where she has trained several oculoplasty fellows and postgraduates. She has been a faculty in the Sir Ratan Tata Fellowship Program for training students in advanced cataract micro surgery.
