A filler is an injection used to restore the facial volume and youthful appearance. It is injected into the depressions or tear troughs below the eyes; the static lines between the nose and the mouth (nasolabial folds), around the lips, forehead and eyes, into thin lips, and also for facial contouring. The patient's own fat can also be used to fill out these depressed areas. Injections are almost painless as fine needles are used and an anesthetic cream is applied before the procedure. They are given in the outpatient clinic.
